PATRICIA THORNTON

Artist and Arts Administrator

For me, art is all about storytelling and connection. I love printmaking because it’s an accessible way to share ideas—it's affordable, easy to reproduce, and makes it possible to reach more people. Whether through screen printing, mono printing, stamping, or relief techniques, I enjoy layering colors, textures, and images to create playful, thought-provoking work. I focus on using non-toxic, eco-friendly materials, because I believe creativity and sustainability should go hand in hand.

In 2025, I founded M Press — A print studio in Missoula, Montana that offers a creative space where artistry and sustainability meet. Beyond the studio, I’m passionate about making the arts welcoming and accessible to everyone. I’ve spent over a decade curating exhibitions, leading workshops, and building community through creative programming. My work often features whimsical characters and narratives that explore themes of connection, resilience, and belonging—because I believe art should be both meaningful and fun.

At the heart of it all, I love bringing people together through art. Whether it's mentoring emerging artists, organizing community events, or hosting hands-on workshops, my goal is to create spaces where creativity thrives, ideas are shared, and everyone feels inspired to make something of their own.
